Hablando de Filantropía (Talking about Philanthropy) was born in 2004 by an invitation
of 11Q, Cadena Nacional to promote philanthropy over the radiowaves. The radio program
became a bonafide NGO, incorporated in Puerto Rico towards the end of 2005.
The radio program has as its' main purpose: to educate and inform about philanthropy....
from the most simple forms, to structured philathropy. Alliances are established among the
diverse philanthropic sectors of the community, we analize the diverse situations of the country
and promote diverse solutions.
We are also making optimum use of the new social media networks emerging, and we are
informing, inspiring and aiding other NGO's thru diverse methodologies on how to maximize
their presence on the internet.
Mission
To educate about philanthropy by being an agent of change that inspires people to become
proactively involved in solidarity though philanthropy, volunteerism and/or community service
Vision
To be recognized in Puerto Rico and internationally as an example of a succesful radio program
for philanthropic topics
A society where philanthropy is valued in a different way, and where each person discovers the
cause that he or she is most passionate about and collaborates with:
- Money
- Services
- Tme
- In-kind donations
Objectives
- Obtain positive and active attitude changes towards Philanthropy and the Third Sector
- Obtain more radio participation with a new type of radio programming
- Be a "voice" for Non-profit organizations
- Identify and promote new non-profits and those that are not easily recognized
- Aid and train other Non-profits in maximizing their presence on the internet
- Promote all types of events, campaigns, and philanthropic activities; where the
representatives can also fortify and create alliances
Lilly Zeller has a philanthropic track
record that was developed in
Colombia, Argentina, United States,
and Puerto Rico.
She is one of the leaders of
philanthropic education in Puerto
Rico, and the first woman to preside
the Board of Directors of the Puerto
Rico Community Foundation
(Fundacion Comunitaria de Puerto
Rico).
Lilly is a philanthropic advisor and
collaborates with a vast diversity of
non-profit organizations in Puerto
Rico and internationally.
